Alexander Bobrov

Bobrov Alexander

Dean of the MGIMO School of Government and International Affairs and Associate Professor at MGIMO's Department of Diplomacy.

Dr. Bobrov is a foreign policy expert specializing in the Russian foreign policy and diplomacy. Since 2021, he has been the Vice-Chairman of the Council of Young Diplomats of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia.

In 2020 Dr. Bobrov was elected as the permanent member of the MGIMO Academic Council. Earlier this year, he received his PhD degree in history from MGIMO University (his dissertation is titled «The Evolution of Russia’s Grand Strategy and its Implementation in Nation’s Diplomatic Practice (1991-2019»). In 2021, Alexander published a book (in Russian) «The Grand Strategy of Russia» that has been a non-fiction bestseller for several years in a row.

As an Associate Professor at MGIMO’s Department of Diplomacy, he teaches various courses (in Russian, English and French), namely, «Modern Diplomacy», «International Relations and World Politics», «Diplomatic Protocol», «Diplomatic Services Worldwide», «Consular Service», «Foreign Policy Analysis», «World and Russian History» etc.

Dr. Bobrov is also a commentator on international affairs for leading Russian and international media outlets.
