We are launching a new program track in Years 3 and 4: Conflict Resolution
School of Government and International Affairs is inaugurating a new degree track in Conflict Resolution as part of our Government, International Politics and Law program.
From the Fall 2022 Semester, we shall offer a series of completely new or significantly redesigned courses to the students who are interested in the theory and practice of international negotiation and conflict mediation, contemporary armed conflicts and their political economy, peace building processes and arms control, nationalism and nation-building, cognitive biases in decision making and international illicit finance.
Taught by the leading MGIMO's own and invited faculty, courses covering this range of subjects will be available as selective in Years 3 and 4 of the SGIA's four-year BA curriculum. Interested students will complete the Conflict Resolution track by collecting a sufficient number of ECTS for the track disciplines and writing a thesis on a topic related to international conflict resolution. We believe that the ability and willingness to engage in give-and-take negotiation and resolve conflicts through peaceful means is one of the formative and indispensable skills of a practitioner of international relations in the 21st-century.
