Open Doors Day of SGIA MGIMO-University

On January 27^th, a virtual Open Doors Day of the School of Government and International Affairs (MGIMO-University) was held for all prospective English-speaking students willing to study in Russia at our bachelor's and master's degree programs.

Dr. Alexander K. Bobrov, Acting Director of MGIMO’s School of Government and International Affairs discussed the exceptional advantages of having an English-based MGIMO education. He shared updates on existing bachelor's programs: Bachelor of Arts in International Relations (program “Government, International Politics and Law”) and Bachelor of Science in Economics (program “International Business and Finance) that are entirely instructed in English. Special emphasis was also laid on a brand-new International Relations master’s program: Master of Arts in International Relations.

Dr. Bobrov also highlighted the significance of having an interdisciplinary education which not only reflects today's international realities but can also provide its students with the unique opportunities MGIMO has to offer. He pointed out that the high quality training received by international students at MGIMO is not only proved by the strong position of the University in global university rankings (37^th place in the world in "Political Science", making it a leader in the non-western world), but also by the high employment and salary ratings of its graduates in the first year following their graduation.

Deputy Director Anastasia M. Solomentseva explained the admission processes for the Russian and international programs and answered questions from applicants and their parents. In this regard, holders of both international secondary education diplomas (IB, A-Levels, etc.) or national high school certificates, as well as Russian high school graduates who passed the Unified State Exam may apply to the English bachelor’s programs. Graduates with a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent may also apply to the available English mater’s programs.
