SGIA Students at International Exhibition-Forum Russia

On March 14th, the students of the MGIMO School of Government and International Affairs (SGIA) were invited to the International Exhibition-Forum «Russia» that is taking place on the territory of VDNKh in Moscow. The exhibition is dedicated to the achievements of Russia in various industries and is a platform for the country’s largest educational, business, cultural and entertainment events: all 89 regions of Russia, as well as federal ministries, corporations and public organisations are participating.

The tour program was structured in a way where each participant was able to get a full understanding of VDNKh, its exhibits and Russia’s achievements in the XXI century in such fields as the economy, science, culture, and art. Dmitry V. Polikanov, Deputy Head of Rossotrudnichestvo, kindly gave SGIA students a guided tour, which allowed the students to delve into the centuries of Russian history and gain new knowledge about different regions of the country.

At the end of the tour, SGIA students participated in a quiz dedicated to the exhibition, in which Nicholas Baretto (Argentina), 1st-Year student of SGIA’s master program, International Diplomacy and Political Regional Studies, demonstrated his newfound knowledge and won a prize. Besides that, he and another SGIA master student, Lamin Sanneh (Gambia), gave interviews in which they shared their impressions of the exhibition and talked about their experience of studying at SGIA MGIMO and living in Russia as foreign students.

The administration of SGIA of MGIMO-University thanks the Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States, Compatriots Living Abroad and International Humanitarian Cooperation for the opportunity to acquaint foreign students of MGIMO with the unique exposition of the International Exhibition-Forum «Russia».
